Are you OSHA Compliant?

Top 10 Safety Violations 2019

Guess what? OSHA just released its Top 10 Violations List for fiscal year 2019, and clearly it’s a case of same ol’ same ol’! For many years now, the OSHA Top 10 Violations List has contained the same regulatory standards. The only difference is that from year to year, regulations might go up or down a position or two. Once again, fall protection, hazcom and scaffolding are the top three OSHA violations. A good take away here is to look at your operations to make sure you are in good shape when it comes to these common citations.

For your Ladders – Are your employees inspecting them prior to use, and have they received training?

For the Hazard Communication standard – Are all your hazardous materials properly labeled, and are your SDS files up to date? If you have respirators lying around, make sure you have a written plan, training, medical clearances, and fit testing as appropriate. Even if the respirators are voluntary and not required, you may trigger these requirements depending on the type of respirator.

If you operate forklifts (including motorized pallet jacks), make sure your operators are properly trained and certified initially, and provide periodic refresher training.

As always, Ingenium is here to provide safe removal of your hazardous waste, as well as a wide variety of other services. Please feel free to contact us for a free consultation.
