Required annually for employees with responsibilities related to the generation, management, or response to releasing hazardous waste. (22 CCR 66262.34(a)(4), 66265.16)

This class covers the following topics: Federal and California-specific hazardous waste requirements, and general information on pertinent regulations; Definitions of hazardous and universal waste in the State of California; Labeling, segregation, and container management for hazardous and universal waste; Storage limits for hazardous waste; Response to hazardous and universal waste releases, including contacting outside emergency agencies. This training also provides general awareness regarding medical waste regulated under the CA Health and Safety Code.
