EPA Generator Improvement Rules Update

A new requirement in the EPA’s Generator Improvement Rules now mandates that Small Quantity Generators (SQGs) of Hazardous Waste re-notify the EPA of their hazardous waste activity.

This re-notification must be done by September 1, 2021 and every 4 years thereafter (e.g. September 1, 2025, September 1, 2029, etc.)

This can most easily be accomplished by re-submitting EPA Form 8700-12, or if your state has adopted the use of MYRCRAID, you can update electronically.

But wait…before you start filling out forms, if you have submitted the 8700-12 or used MYRCRAID within the 4 years prior to September 1, 2021 (and all your information is still accurate,) you are good to go. EPA considers SQG submittal of the Site ID form (in full) anytime within the four years before the deadline to meet this requirement.

Always check with your state to see how the regulations are being adopted and, as always, please feel free to reach out to INGENIUM if you have questions.

Our job is to make your job easier.
