“We Care for Your World” is more than just a Mission Statement for Ingenium. It’s part of a culture that we practice as a company and encourage our employees to embrace. At Ingenium, we inspire our employees and others to live healthier, strive for a more sustainable world and strengthen our communities through contributions and volunteerism.
As part of our commitment to “Care for Your World,” we are currently active with several community organizations, both local and national. We have and do work hand-in-hand with:
Boys & Girls Club San Marcos
In keeping with our core value of “Compassion”, Ingenium participated in the “Adopt-A-Family” program at the San Marcos Boys & Girls Club. We are always looking for ways to give back to our community.
March of Dimes
The focus of the March of Dimes is to prevent birth defects, infant mortality and premature birth. They have led the way to discover the genetic causes of birth defects, to promote newborn screening and to educate medical professionals and the public about best practices for healthy pregnancy. In addition, the rising incidence of premature birth has demanded action, and the March of Dimes has responded by initiating an intensive, multi-year campaign to raise awareness and find the causes of prematurity.
Our Chief Compliance Office, Scott Rendleman, and his wife, Leila, have led the effort for Ingenium and its employees to participate with the March of Dimes organization. For the past several years, Ingenium and its employees have made sizable contributions to the organization and put in hundreds of volunteer hours in support of the March of Dimes. We have proudly contributed to this important cause since 2011.
“Team Pirate Power,” the Rendleman’s March of Dimes/March for Babies Family Team, was formed in 2011 after the premature birth of their twin sons. Liam and Ewan were born four months early. Sadly, Ewan did not survive the complications caused by his extreme premature birth. Liam would spend 109 days in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit before coming home. He is thriving and an Ambassador for the March of Dimes. Team Pirate Power is the #1 Family Team in Santa Clara County, and a Top 5 Family Team in California. Ingenium has been a proud Platinum Sponsor of Team Pirate Power since 2015. Ingenium has also been a sponsor at the Silicon Valley March of Dimes Signature Chef’s Fundraising Dinners for the past five years.
Ingenium will be supporting this year’s “March for Babies”, where each branch will participate in their respective areas.
InterFaith is an organization that offers a broad continuum of programs and services that provide people in crisis the tools and resources they need to stabilize and rebuild their lives. These programs are organized into five main areas (1) Nutrition and Basic Needs, (2) Employment, (3) Self Sufficiency and Supportive Services, (4) Behavioral Health and Recovery and (5) Housing.
Part of the current InterFaith initiative is in support of a national drive to give homeless veterans a new start by placing them in furnished homes. As such, InterFaith needs to find locations to house donations such as furniture and other large items while they are waiting to be distributed to deserving veterans. Ingenium has stepped up to meet the need by donating a large portion of our corporate warehouse for storage of these items. In addition, we recently donated a forklift to the organization to make it easier for them to manage and organize their warehouse.
Ingenium recently held a food/clothing drive for Interfaith and collected tons of items for donation. We continue to look for opportunities to support Interfaith in their efforts to help these deserving veterans.
In keeping with our core value of “Compassion,” Ingenium supported Interfaith Community Services by participating in “Backpacks for a Cause”, a program to collect school supplies for kids in need. All items purchased were donated to Interfaith for kids going back to school. This is just one way Ingenium gives back to our community. Thanks to all our employees who have donated.
Fresh Start Surgical Gifts
Fresh Start is a San Diego regional, nonprofit organization dedicated to helping children with deformities transform their lives through long-term reconstructive surgery and ongoing care. Board licensed physicians and plastic surgeons from around the country volunteer their time, along with hundreds of other volunteers, to change the lives of children who would otherwise not be able to receive care. To date, Fresh Start has donated $30,550,050 in medical services and has performed over 16,000 procedures for 7,000+ deserving recipients. Our CEO, Heather Dody, is on the Board of Directors for Fresh Start, and is an active participant and donor, along with other Ingenium staff members, to Fresh Start and their efforts.
Spirit of Sharing
For the past two years, Ingenium has adopted a military family through Spirit of Sharing. This organization provides the names and a “wish list” of a family who has a military parent deployed during the holidays. Ingenium has been able to provide the family with personalized gifts, gift cards and essential items to help make their holidays better while their family member is deployed. Each year we have been able to meet the recipients to personally thank them for their service and for the sacrifices they have made for our country.
Susan G. Komen
Ingenium employees and their family members participated in the Susan G. Komen Walk for Breast Cancer. Our employee volunteers obtained donations and walked in the event to raise breast cancer awareness and to contribute to breast cancer research.
Boys & Girls Club of San Marcos
This year Ingenium adopted a family in need through the Boys & Girls Club of San Marcos. We were able to provide a single mom and her three daughters with much-needed household items, clothing, toys and gift cards. We were very happy to make this family’s holiday season a joyful one.
Toys for Tots
Chicks in Crisis
Our Sacramento Branch supported Chicks in Crisis and collected food and clothing items for the holidays. Chicks in Crisis reaches out to teens, young women and current and emancipated foster youth who are pregnant, parenting or at-risk, helping them to become responsible parents and leaders in our community. They create a foster-free future by helping them make positive choices in a non-judgmental environment. They help to keep these girls and their children off of the streets and out of sex trafficking and break the cycle of hopelessness and neglect.
Kent Food Bank & Emergency Services
The Kent Food Bank provides assistance to low-income families and individuals of the Kent School District and provides them with food and clothing. This year our Kent Branch held a donation drive and made a huge contribution to the families in the Kent School District to brighten up their holidays..
