DTSC Public Notice: Proposed Emergency Regulatory Action on CRTs and CRT Management

The Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) is proposing to re-adopt emergency regulations which expand the existing options for the disposition of CRTs and CRT glass currently regulated under universal waste regulations by removing the standard that a universal waste handler may treat CRTs only if the glass is sent for recycling to either a CRT glass manufacturer or a primary or secondary lead smelter. In addition, DTSC proposes to add regulations in California Code of Regulations, title 22, division 4.5, chapter 23, article 8

(commencing with§ 66273.81), article 9 (commencing with§ 66273.90), and article 10 (commencing with§ 66273.100).
